Style
Our commitment is to develop a deep, holistic understanding of how your experiences connect, so you and your therapist can identify meaningful patterns and opportunities for growth, insight, and behavioral change. We maintain a therapeutic style that is warm, thoughtful, focused, and down-to-earth.
As much as our therapists love theory, we aim for therapy sessions to feel relaxed, comfortable, and balanced. We encourage clients to make the space their own—whether that means walking during session to help focus, bringing a snack or a warm drink, or even inviting a beloved pet to join. Our hope is that therapy feels both deeply insightful and refreshingly real—a place where you can gain meaningful understanding and feel free to be yourself.
Theory
We deeply value high quality, comprehensive, attachment-based, and trauma-informed care. Our therapists have training in psychodynamic therapy which explores how different threads of our lives connect to create who we are today and is based in the psychoanalytic tradition. When working with one of our therapists, you can expect to feel deeply understood, heard, and validated.
Our therapists also have extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which is based in the cognitive-behavioral tradition. The research base behind ACT shows us how when we change how we relate to our emotions, take new perspectives, and embrace feeling instead of avoiding it, we tend to feel more at peace, grounded, and clear-minded.
We believe in the importance of balance in all facets of life. This value is reflected in our integration of a psychoanalytic approach with a cognitive-behavioral approach. While we will build deep, complex insights in therapy, we will do so while emphasizing staying grounded, present, and practicing new coping skills.
